Friend’s birthday 08/08/07

dsc07756.jpg

On the 8th of August 2007, we had celebrate the small party to one of our friend name Sort Borort as the same as farewell party to him as he’s going to study Master Degree at AIT in Thailand on 10th Aug 07. We did it by didn’t let him know in advance; first time we already booked the place to celebrate it since in the afternoon and asked him to pick me and my friend name Leakhena up at her house to eat something; we discussed for a while for where that we gonna eat after that due to he was tired after work full day, so do i. As result, I raised one idea to eat Suki Soup at the one place which we used to be there before, unfortunately he never been there; so we decided to go there. Meanwhile, I pretended that other friends were busy studying and no time to join us. So that made him feel a bit disappointed. However, it was absolutely wrong as we already arranged it…. Hee hee. We had accompanied him to the place which we already arranged at one of restaurants in Cambodia name Reatrey Phnom Penh 69 and walked to the second floor; our friends already there stood up and said HELLO to him was making him surprised and especially couldn’t assume why the party was going to be well organized like that and seem the last of our meeting up before he goes to Thailand for studying; he felt good at that time. It kinds to made friend happy and excited; at the end; in my point of view, we did it very well. He was so excited and nervous. You know, what happened at the end of our small party was he bought the jasmine and pink roses to all the girls whom attended…. Oh, I seem forget to tell you guys that the total people who participated were 14 and the girls were 5 that received the roses from him….. I have been keeping the jasmine in my room for the few days after that because I thought it make me feel good from its smelling when I sleep and get up. I extremely know that it was very wonderful day for him that he couldn’t describe how the feeling is it? I really grateful to have such a good friend like him due to he spent a lot of time to teach all of our friends including me how to built the website and PHP lesson every weekend, however, start from now onward we couldn’t do like that any more as he’s going to be far away from us. Anyway, we still keep in touch via email or chat if possible at the available time for all of us. Also, I’d like to thanks for all of my friends that have a great kind of friendship to create this party well. It’s very fantastic and kept in my mind as well as our friends’ heart forever and especially I hope, he does too, doesn’t he????

At the end of this time, I’d like to say some wish to him and wish him have a good luck, success of what he wants, healthy and prosperous for his whole life.

My work acheivement for this month

Tsbr-ed Library Management System interfaces

Sooner of later this program has been developed completely on time for this month. It is a system for controlling books in the TSBR-ED library. With this system, librarian will be easy for managing all books, borrowers, and library transaction, also can produce the reports. I have taken for about two weeks to finish this.

TSBR-ED project is a sub project of TSEMP (Tonle Sap Environmental Management Project). Its main purpose is to provide and share information related to the environmental and livelihood management around the Tonle Sap Great Lake. Those information is available both online and at the secretariat’s library located on the forth floor of MRC building, Monivong Blvd, Beoung Trabek, Phnom Penh.

Anybody who need information related to the Tonle Sap Great Lake please contact us through the project website: www.tsbr-ed.org

Who wanna eat APING spider?

A woman selling APING at Skun, Kampong Cham

Travelling by bus along the national road No 7 from Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham, you will have to stop by an eating place near Skun. At there you can find variety of stuffs to buy for eating from boil eggs to pine apples… However, one thing that you will probably interest is something like spider a.k.a APING.

APING’s a kind of spider which is big in its size than normal spider. Normally it is look so scared to eat but most people like eating this very much as they think that it is a kind of medecine for curing some diseases. I used to try it before, the taste is not bad, but now i dunno why i can’t eat it..

If you want to try, only that place that serves and seem to have nowhere else…

Let’s eat Baby Duck Egg with me lah…

Two naked baby duck eggs, some herbs, and spicy lemon juice..

Ah, baby duck egg! My favorite…

Every evening in Phnom Penh, there are many places which you can find something to eat like that ones. Especially around Orussey market, Stop Pet Chen, Phar Nher, and around many street-corners. When you talk about Baby Duck Eggs, you will never forget Mix Fruit Juice aka Teok Kralok right. Cos these things are sold at the same place…

When you eat the eggs, just select the young ones for they are more delicious than the old baby eggs. And with herbs and garlic pickle mix with lemon juice and salty pepper, the taste will be very great. However one egg is 1200 Riels, far more expensive than before.

After finishing eating the eggs don’t forget to call for Teok Kralok or Mix Fruit Dessert okay as they will help you to release some spicy taste..

My trip to Russey Srok (Saang) on Water Festival’s day

Talun Dock (Russey Srok, Saang)

On the second day of the Water Festival, with no plan to go anywhere, I had decided to go to Saang, Kandal province, with my aunt and her family after her calling (they were going to visit their homeland). It was nearly nine o’clock on Sunday morning and they had waited me in front of my house for several minutes. Soon after my sister came back from the market, we started the trip. On the way we had stopped to buy some drinks, and went on our journey. In this trip there were three cars with all members of the family. The trip took about one and a half hour so it was not so long.

When we arrived at a dock called Talun dock (Kampong Dor Talun) we had to wait another several minutes for a ferry boat. We had to go across a small river, and the fare for crossing the river was 6000 Riels for a small car and 300 Riels for one person. The other side of the river is the East shore and the house that we were going to visit is located nearby there along the river bank.

Finally, we arrived. And we just took some stuff out of the car for lunch preparation. Before lunch I had wandered around to see the scenery of the countryside and also looked after some children. It was a nice time before noon to see such view especially walking into the orchard which was rich of various fruit trees such as mango trees, papaya trees, banana trees and so on…

It was lunch time, and we had fish for lunch, grilled fish and boiled fish. Everything is fresh here and so the food was very tasty. Fruits were coming after lunch, guavas and mangos with mixed salt and sauce. Wow, dropping spittle… I ate a lot and that was why I felt very afraid of something which may go wrong with my stomach but eventually nothing happened. Now it was time to rest. Everybody took a rest and I also took a nap. With the mild and pure wind from the river side, we really had a great afternoon rest.

After the short rest it was about 3 to 4 in the afternoon and there was something to enjoy. There was a volley ball court just beside the house and my uncle was gotten ready for the sport. I played him for a short time because I was not so good at it. And then he would play with other group of people in the village. I just took a short rest and then walked again to orchard and went to the field behind that. Behind the orchard, lied very spectacular scenery of the countryside that I haven’t seen for long ago. I enjoyed taking photographs very much.

The evening time came, and we had dinner before traveling back to Phnom Penh. We had beef (Kour Lerng Phnom) for our dinner. That was a great food ever brought here. We all enjoyed and were very happy with that great evening and dinner. As soon as we had finished our dinner we all had prepared our stuff coming back home.

That was my very great holiday at the countryside homeland while there were lots of people enjoyed their holiday watching boat racing in Phnom Penh.
